Last July, a week of enchantment awaited as we dove into the beauty of St. Kitts and Nevis. I was thrilled to embark on Turtle Week and share the magic with Mom. It was both our first time in this two-island country. Join us as we uncovered the treasures of this Caribbean gem.
Getting There
In November, Jet Blue will introduce non-stop flights to SKB from the East Coast, making Nevis more accessible than ever. Upon arrival at St. Kitts' airport, a short drive to the harbor and a boat ride to Nevis sets the stage for a seamless journey, courtesy of @fsnevis.
Warmth and Hospitality
Our first visit to St. Kitts and Nevis was met with warm smiles and genuine care from the locals. After a delightful cocktail reception, our server Claire showed exceptional kindness to Mom, now affectionately known as "Lola," meaning grandmother in Filipino.
The Resort's Charm
@fsnevis, the first Four Seasons Resort, exudes laid-back luxury, rooted in tradition. Did you know Alexander Hamilton was born in Nevis? We explored the resort, delved into Hamilton's history, and witnessed the sea turtle life cycle during Turtle Week.
Island Exploration
Nevis, a 36-square-mile island with 51 churches and more green vervet monkeys than people, beckons adventurers. Nevis Peak, the second-highest Caribbean mountain, stands tall, while the calm beach offers perfect swimming and snorkeling.
Tranquil Paradise
@fsnevis may not be for party-seekers or cruise ship enthusiasts. It's a serene escape, akin to a less commercial Maui. The Nevisians' warmth and hospitality make this a standout Caribbean destination. Guests from the UK, France, and the US frequent @fsnevis, which is open year-round.
Turtle Week Magic
Turtle Week at Four Seasons Nevis is an annual event where luxury and conservation converge in the stunning Caribbean setting of Nevis. This week-long celebration focuses on the preservation of sea turtles, offering educational workshops and guided tours led by marine experts. Guests actively participate in conservation efforts through beach patrols, safeguarding nesting sites and witnessing the magic of sea turtle life, from hatchlings' first steps to mother turtles nesting on the resort's pristine beaches. This unique experience combines eco-consciousness with the renowned luxury of Four Seasons, fostering a deeper connection to nature and leaving guests with lasting memories while actively contributing to sea turtle preservation..
Discovering Hamilton's Legacy
Even if you haven't seen @hamiltonmusical on Broadway, exploring Hamilton's birthplace in Nevis is a must. Visit his home grounds, St. Paul's Anglican Church, the Jewish cemetery (1670), and Cottle Church (1824), the Caribbean's first desegregated church.
Nevis, with its lush beauty and rich history, is a Caribbean paradise. @fsnevis offers a range of suites and villas, perfect for couples or families. Whether you're here for Turtle Week or a tranquil getaway, this destination should be on your radar.
